LIGHTDANCERS is a support system to encourage the next generation in a way that will allow them to discover who they are in Christ. Without stereotyping them, we provide acceptance through the love of Christ by offering guidance and direction for situations brought about by personal choices of the individual. This is accomplished by fostering the God given gifts and talents of those we encounter and by helping the individual to seek the type of lifestyle and purpose that Jesus created them for. It is our desire to help those we encounter discover the simple but often overlooked reality; that their lives are made up of a series of choices that can be altered at any moment in time and that they are loved greater than they could ever imagine!

Originally LIGHTDANCERS was established as a ministry geared for the exotic dancer. During our first 7 years of ministry, we traversed uncharted territory in the creation and establishment of numerous printed resources written with the intent of encouraging the exotic dancer and reaching into the exotic dancing industry with the love of Christ. (All of these tools are still available to download FREE from our website!)

Most recently we at LIGHTDANCERS have broadened our reach to encompass the next generation as a whole. Just as we saw a lack in meeting a tremendous need with respect to the exotic dancing industry, so it is that we see an even greater need not being met when it comes to the next generation.

Our website now encompasses both our original outreach into the world of the dancer as well as what God is currently ushering us into with the youth of the next generation. Don't look so shocked! Those of the next generation are bombarded everyday with negative sexual messages. This is the reality of our world. This is the reality of their life. The website is jam packed with a large variety of resources and information. It quickly became the heart of the ministry and was created so that those who want the information can obtain it 24/7 when they need it most. So stay and visit a while. There is much to be gleaned here for everyone.

It's important to remember that we all have a story to tell. Our yesterdays effect our tomorrows. This is our testimony to the glory of God. Regardless of what it looks like, what it may have been, it is part of the reason that we can stand here today and speak from our hearts of the goodness of God and His unconditional love for us. And it is this truth that propells us forward to share of ourselves in an honest and straightforward way with all of those we encounter. Whether you're 13 or 80, a dancer, a parent, a club patron or owner; if you're total goth, a Wiccan, or a Baptist Pastor; if you live and breath biker or have come from the mean streets of LA, none of this is of any consequence. God is no respector of persons. He doesn't seperate His people out by class, occupation, or sin... and neither do we.

People have often asked "What church are you affiliated with?" We're not. At the onset, we came up under the vast umbrella of Phoenix First Assembly in Phoenix, Arizona. From there, we were set on our feet by Calvary Chapel North also in Phoenix, Arizona. Since our move to Kansas we have for the most part stood alone. Now this does not mean that we are some stray arrow meandering about aimlessly. We have strong relationships with many Pastors and churches stretching from Florida to Alaska, but we have been called to go places where many churches and their Pastors are not accustomed to stepping. LIGHTDANCERS never has been and never will be a conventional ministry. We broke out of the box of religion a long time ago. We are not anti-church by any means, but we have seen the damage and division that denominational differences can bring. It is not about denomination or church membership. It is about reaching people for Christ with the love of Christ. Relationship is what breaks down walls, religion is what builds walls. We want to see the walls come tumbling down because there are a whole lot of people standing on the other side hungering for something more than what dead religion and hypocritical actions bring.

Although there are so many exciting things that lie ahead for us as we follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, for most we encounter, this will be the beginning of a journey that will last a lifetime. Each of us needs a constant reminder that there is no darkness too great ~ no heartache too deep, that the love of Jesus can not break through. They need to: see Him in our face, hear His voice in our words, feel that our touch is an embrace from the Lord. And so it is that we thank God that light works best in the darkness and with this in mind, we reach for our ultimate goal: to encourage the next generation in a way that will allow them to discover who they are in Christ by providing acceptance through the unconditional love of Christ.
